What Does Your Dance Look Like?
You have probably heard of Matt Harding by now – in which case there you are already smiling as you read these words. If you haven’t, this will make your day!

Matt is a 31 year-old man known for a goofy little dance he would perform randomly. While in Hanoi in 2003, a friend suggested Matt’s dance his jig and a star was born. Upon his return, Matt edited his two-step from various stops on his journey into a video and put it up on his website Where the Hell is Matt?
The video became a viral favorite, found its’ way around the web and eventually Stride gum came calling. Stride offered to fund his travels. Over the past few years Matt has made three videos. The latest, features Matt dancing with people all around the world.

A joyful expression, the video is simply delightful. In addition to people of all ages breaking into dance with Matt, the soundtrack accompanies you on a fanciful journey. The music for the 2008 video was composed by Garry Schyman and set to a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, sung in Bengali by Palbasha Siddique, a 17-year-old native of Bangladesh. (In the 2006 video, the vocals are a traditional lullaby named “Rorogwela, performed by a native of the Solomon Islands, Afunakwa and the original video used the same lullaby in song by Deep Forest called Sweet Lullaby Dancing Remix).

Next time you find yourself doubting yourself, immobilized by fear, or simply confused about which way to turn – remember how Matt’s goofy little dance morphed from a quirky habit into an internet sensation, paid for with corporate sponsorship, inspiring people all around the world.
